Hello, I’m Kara! My insurance philosophy is simple: I will always advise you as if I were helping my own family member. I’m not here to upsell, oversell, or put you at a disadvantage. My agency is built on trust and relationships; I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I started in this field right out of college, back in 2003. Ten years later, my college roommate and close friend Melanie Rankins joined me at the agency. We share the same goals, values, and beliefs, which has made our working relationship seamless. We have dedicated our careers to serving area families with personal lines of insurance, compassionate customer service, and a relationship-first approach.
The impact of comprehensive insurance coverage hit close to home when my son passed away suddenly when he was only two months old. As we dealt with this devastating loss, we did not have to worry about the financial hit, as Jacob had a life insurance policy. Not only did the funds pay for his funeral, but we also built and dedicated a park to celebrate his memory. Jacob’s Park is a toddler-dedicated area of a local playground that serves as his legacy.
Outside of work, you’ll find me spending time with my husband and our three children. I’m an avid runner who is even crazy enough to enjoy running marathons!

Hello, I’m Mel! I enjoy providing excellent customer service and helping people with their home, auto and life insurance needs. I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a Bachelors Degree in 2003 and have been a Licensed Insurance Producer since 2013.
I’ve been married to my husband, Joe, since 2015 and we have two young sons plus two older stepsons. When I’m not working, you’ll find me teaching fitness classes, running, doing half marathons, traveling, and taking my boys on adventures!
